He started his playing career at his home town club and moved to Alès, before Brest and Metz signed him in consecutive seasons. His stellar play with the OM has earned him top French player honors for the months of August, October and November 2005. In the months leading to the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany, Ribéry looks to be rewarded with a spot in the national team, a scenario entirely possible due to his amazing performances lately. His ability to accelarate past defenders, to make hard and accurate passes to teammates in front of goal, and to have incredible attacking talent granted him a place in France's team for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Pe'er is Jewish, and was born in Jerusalem.[2] Pe'er's father, Dovik, is a computer software specialist and her mother, Aliza, is a homemaker. She began playing tennis at the age of six when she joined her brother Shlomi and her sister Shani in tennis lessons.
At the age of 19, Pe'er joined the Israeli military, as military service is mandatory in Israel, where she excelled in rifle marksmanship during her elementary combat training.[3] When not abroad participating in tennis tournaments, she spent her mornings working as an administrative secretary for the Israeli military, and her afternoons practicing tennis.[4]

Víctor Valdés i Arribas (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbiktoɾ balˈdes i aˈribas]; born 14 January 1982) is a Spanish football goalkeeper who currently plays for FC Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga.
He is the most successful goalkeeper in Barcelona's history and is widely considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world, having won a total of 17 titles including five La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, and one Copa del Rey title. He also has won the Zamora Trophy a record four times. Before joining the full team in 2002–03 season, Valdés played for the youth teams and FC Barcelona B. [1] Currently, he has a contract with Barcelona until 2014.[2]
